Our knowledge

We're not scared of computers, but we're not in awe of them either. We actually know how the technology works, from browsers and databases down to wires and bits. We can organise and present information, and can make web sites usable. We understand what factors affect things like security, performance and reliability.

We're formally educated in computer science, psychology and other relevant disciplines. We've also studied design, marketing, management and strategy, so we can see the big picture as well as we can fill in the details. Plus, we regularly interact with our peers in other fields, so we benefit from knowledge outside the web development community.

We work in both proprietary and open environments, and with both leading-edge and mature technologies. We don't claim to be experts in everything, but we do know a lot about many Internet-related technologies, something about a lot more, and we understand how they all fit together. We also know how to solve a lot of problems that arise all the time in building web-based systems.

We also know our limits, and when and how to get help from elsewhere.
